This is a lesson from one distinguished young friend to all of us —
Mack Zuckerberg, the 25 year old young man behind Facebook; World’s largest social networking site; he was named one of World's Most Influential People of 2008 by Times Magazine (He fell under the Scientists & Thinkers category for his web phenomenon). WOW what a category— thinkers.
These points are filtered from his story:
· Develop the attitude of excellence, (Remember, attitude is the direction you are facing and not the distance you are going)
· Acknowledge and build your T.A.G.S (Talent, Abilities, Gifts, Skills)
· Develop yourself into a brand that is captivating, confident and consistent
· Build your network, Value People and Relationships
· Create your own Market
‘Finally, if you put your heart in the right direction, you don’t have to worry about your feet’ (Lawrie Golding) as you move on this pavement of mortality.

You know, what I have not been able to fathom is this facebook rise to stardom considering other social networks have been around before it. I mean sites like Hi5 and the rest of them. Any one knows what facebook did different?
ReplyDeleteI believe it came at the nick of time and targeted the Students first before penetrting the young profesionals/companies. It could not be resisted nor ignored going by the rise and usefullness of social media in brand and marketing in this jet age
ReplyDeleteDapo, I believe it came down to a combination of things. Vision, Strategic Vigour, Strength to implement, Strong Capital backing and sheer determination. For a twenty-something year old when he started those are serious attributes. If he could at 23 reject $1billion dollar offer from Yahoo it says a lot.
